Director's note

I can tell that in reality I have lived in the same geography as is portrayed in this film, moment by moment, and that I have always been looking to capture those bittersweet moments.

Balit means OAK which is a symbol of endurance, while the role of Baliti in the film is a boy of different, strong and bold character. I made sure that the film not only shares to a deep level the hardship and loneliness of this boy with the viewer, but it also does reveal the difficulties of the women of the village in every and each one of the scenes.

Not only they have to go on working and working, but there are also bitter experiences. The mother of Baliti lives in Isfahan with a lot of suffering and hardship when she separates from her child at the insistence of her brother.

Among the films I have worked on so far, I like this particular movie because it is  taken from my own life while it reflects on the hard and bitter memories of my own past which are actually the sweetest moments of my life as I remember them now.
